From Sketch to Refined Masterpiece, Here’s What SkeTchwork Design & Style Has to Offer

Effortlessly elegant, grounded in efficiency and practicality—this is how SkeTchwork Design & Style’s Design Principal, Sulini Tjoeng, describes the interior design company's hallmark approach. The multi-faceted studio offers tasteful and pragmatic design services for residential, commercial, and hospitality establishments.

“My fulfilment in running an interior design company lies in having a creative expression, helping clients realise their visions, and seeing the tangible results of my work," the virtuoso shares during her exclusive interview with Megafurniture. The creative designer, who studied in Australia, amassed over 15 years of experience in handling local and international interior design projects, including those in China and Dubai. In October 2021, the seasoned interior designer established her own design firm with the Bali-originated Rumours Beach Club at Sentosa, Singapore, as one of its first notable projects.

Considering the beach setup, SkeTchwork Design & Style incorporated a smart use of recycled and water-resistant furnishings that are easy to maintain but are nothing short on style.

SkeTchwork Design & Style employs a robust framework to complete projects that integrate art and practicality. This framework includes working closely with each client, efficient budget planning, and time management to deliver results when they are needed. With this systematic approach brought about by the founder's extensive experience, the design firm earned the trust of their clients and received various referrals over the years. “I am a very organised person; therefore, I have a timeline allocated to each project and scope I have to finish within a certain timeline," says the founder, who has successfully completed residential and commercial projects for multinational corporations in Singapore and across the globe.

The other parts of the home exude a seductive minimalist look with muted colour schemes, thoughtfully integrated storage, and a quality choice of materials.

"I am very passionate about creativity, using my imagination, being inspired and inspiring others if possible, throughout the entire design process, from paper to reality. We listen, we sketch, we tailor and customise your space to fit your style." shares the creative founder.

Sulini Tjoeng has always loved drawing and crafting unique designs. True to the firm’s name, sketching is one of the most important aspects of the design principal's process. “Looking at the finished work, which initially is a piece of paper, makes me happy. It can be gratifying to transform spaces and make them more beautiful and functional.”

Photos: The owner of this 1,670-square-foot condominium is a warm guest host who loves a spacious refuge to come home to after a long day. Noting these conditions, SkeTchwork Design & Style built a spacious abode with well-curated furnishings, finishes and storage arrangements to accommodate the owner’s hobbies and hosting requirements— all while complementing the owner’s existing furniture. The end product is a fusion of oriental accents, minimalist modern structure and a touch of Zen elements.

With the help of her trusted professional contractor, Sulini Tjoeng employs extensive attention to detail in every project she undertakes, as she understands the multi-faceted role of an interior designer. While being in the industry for a decade and a half, the visionary continues to explore possibilities while her passion remains solid at its core.
